What is Chefs for Education?
Last September of 2009 at the Whitespace on Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati, three hundred of friends and supporters of Philippine education, assembled for Chefs for Education (C4E): A Jeans Ball which brought together five (5) of Manila’s top chefs — Colin Mackay, Gaita Fores, Vicky Pacheco, Jessie Sinsioco, and Chef Myrna Segismundo. Together, in a space designed by Chito Vijandre and Ricky Toledo of Firma fame and put together by Gaita Fores, the five collaborated on and prepared a sumptuous seven-course meal.
Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) together with Philippine Tatler organized this event, raising funds for PBEd’s 1000 Teachers Program which is about helping change our education system by sending some of our best and brightest on their way to becoming public school teachers.
The dinner was a resounding success, as guests left the venue with full stomachs, broadened minds and inspired hearts. Thus, together again with Philippine Tatler, we now present Chefs for Education 2 (C4E2) on August 27, 2011, Saturday at the Whitespace.
Chefs Mackay, Fores, and Pacheco have agreed to join this program once more. However, joining this illustrious team this year are Norbert Gandler of Aubergine, Rob Pengson of The Goose Station and Pierre Benedict of Ristorante Carpaccio.
