Consultant for Core Skills Curriculum Review | Deadline : September 10, 2021

The Philippine Business for Education (PBEd) is a non-profit committed to improving lives through quality  and relevant education. Our advocacy areas include teaching and learning, workforce development, and  complementary education. YouthWorks PH is a project co-implemented by PBEd with the United States Agency for International  Development, which aims to equip the youth with the skills necessary to be work- and future-ready. The  project caters to youth who are not in education, employment, and training (NEET) aged 18-30 in the areas of  Greater Manila Area, Cebu, Zamboanga City, Cagayan de Oro City and Gen. Santos City. Integral to the project  is a core skills mentoring approach that covers life skills training and guidance.. As part of its emergency  programming in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the project adopted a distance learning and mentoring  approach starting June 2020. The most recent developments in the pandemic, however, foreshadow a  persistent reliance on technology-based platforms even in the “new normal,” in order to reach the youth  NEET and continue upskilling them. Thus, this short-term engagement will endeavor to evaluate the  relevance and applicability of its core skills curriculum, and provide necessary pivots.  The consultant will provide short-term services to PBEd by (1) reviewing the current core skills  curriculum; (2) re-designing the core skills curriculum to fit a standard eight-week design; (3) revising the  implementation toolkit; and (4) coming up with guidelines for mentor onboarding and guidance for the  use of the core skills curriculum toolkit.
